Río Seco

En un pequeño montallantas ubicado en un desierto, Alirio vive con Raúl, su mejor amigo. Ambos pasan el tiempo atendiendo el escaso trabajo que les llega, jugando partidas de parqués, siestas en la hamaca y espiando a eventuales viajeras que les piden el baño prestado. La tranquilidad de sus días se interrumpe con la llegada de Carmen, la hermana menor de Alirio, quien ha venido a buscarlo para reclamarle por algo que sucedió cuando vivían juntos, hace casi una década. Con el paso de los días, se va develando para Raúl las verdaderas razones que tienen a Alirio allí, aislado del mundo, al tiempo que Alirio percibe una amabilidad de Raúl hacia Carmen que lo convierten en víctima de sus celos no superados.

La convivencia de los tres, cada vez más compleja, los lleva a vivir por separado e inconscientemente la misma necesidad de ponerle fin a la situación.

In a small tire service shack in the middle of the desert, Alirio lives with Raul. Raul is not only Alirio’s right-hand, but his best friend; in their free time, which abounds given the few clients they have, they play Colombian pachisi, practice penalty kicks, take the siesta, and spy on the occasional woman that asks for the toilet. But their peaceful days are interrupted by the unexpected visit of Carmen –Alirio’s younger sister that resents his ten-year absence. For Raul, the joy produced by this family reunion is soon overshadowed by his awareness of Alirio’s motives for choosing isolation, which unveils a personality that is incompatible with the image he has of his friend. Meanwhile, Raul’s kindness with Carmen will make him a victim of Alirio’s old jealousy grudges; and the three of them will try to find a way out of the uncomfortable and complex situation without knowing that the other two also have their own plans.
